Red Light on Pump runs every application!

Postby brent » Fri Apr 21, 2017 1:06 am

Now I know what you're thinking, Ol' Brent has finally lost it. I have but that's beside the point. I've replaced the pressure switch, and the accumulator, and still the pump runs evry time I push the brakes. This is on my kids 53,000 mile '91 Mark VII. I am at a loss as to the answer. Any Ideas?

Do the brakes function normally besides the light? Coyld be air in the master cylinder.
Thanks from Dayton Ohio

Hey Brent,
I'm only two months late in reading this.

I'd start with completely replacing the fluid.
Replacing the switch and/or the accumulator could have introduced air into the system.
If the pedal is spongy then it's definitely air.
