Best struts/shocks

Postby 46pw » Tue Oct 25, 2016 9:15 am

I have a 84 mark vii and have to replace the air bags, so I might as well replace the struts/ shocks also. My car has 35k on her and I would like to have a little stiffer ride than I do right now. I am looking for wisdom before I buy, any thoughts?
Thanks Mike

From other brands the best ones I believe are the Bilsteins. They are not cheap but, supposedly the best. I have a set on the rear of my rear and it seems to be happier than the OEM shocks were.

Your selections are probably down to Monroe and KYB. I haven't tried the Monroe but the KYB GR2 struts are still under damped. If you're very picky, refer to my threads at on getting Konis built to work. They are the best I have found for this chassis.

I'm sold on Monroes and their lifetime warrantees.

What did you choose to install?
