'89 BB door jam switches

Postby Gramps67 » Wed Apr 05, 2017 9:42 pm

What are the switches located on the bottom rear door jams for. The one on my driver's door lost the plunger cover, is out and bent over. Any ideas where I can buy one?
Thanks

They are the shoulder belt release switches.
They are made of UnObTanium.
To the best of my knowledge, they are only available from a 1984 - 1989 parts car.

I appreciate the reply however, I used the weblink and didn't get any direct info. I figured they had to do with the seat belts since mine don't lock up as they should. If you have a better link where I can find one, it would be greatly appreciated.

Whoops.
It was just an example of said switch for those not fortunate enough to have a pre 1990 Lincoln Mark VII :)
To the best of my knowledge, they are only available from a 1984 - 1989 parts car.

Thanks a lot for your info, I'm still looking for a parts car but it seems a MKVII is a rare animal to find around here.
Take care,

Just for general info for those of you that own a 1989, the 1990 model doesn't have the switches for the seat belts that I'm looking for.

A quick search for pick and pull auto parts shipping resulted in a bunch of places in North America that will pull it and ship it to you.

I think I found a good website for MK VII parts. markviimotors.com
I talked to him and he seems to have what I need. I ordered the switch, waiting for delivery.
I'll let you know how it goes.
