Hello, yes they were one of the iconic designs IMO from Detroit during that time period. Anyways, my car hasn't been in a serious accident that I have knowledge about. The car was an estate car but, it did sit outside before IndyDave on here purchased him. I'm wondering if the windshield myself is not exactly square but, that is something I'm looking into. I'd be curious too if 5151mm's rust fix takes care of the issue at hand. Thank you again.

It looks terrible :( I mean, piece A and piece B, as pictured, should actually be flush with each other, right?

In order to remove all the rust there properly, it seems like better access is needed. So the fender has to be removed. To do that, the hood, headlight, bumper filler and bumper has to come off, right? :?

There is a seam there, with seam sealer filling it. That seam sealer is what dries out with age, and shrinks, allowing air and moisture in. That's the problem.

Those parts should be welded together along their edges below, where they overlap. I'm not sure how large that gap is supposed to be, without the seam sealer in it.

The fender is in the way to get down far enough, take that off for sure.

Johannes,
Thanks for the picture!
Do you have any more while the window is out?

Ok, Don, thanks so far.
Is there a write-up about how to remove the fender?

John, as soon as I am back at the car, I'll make some more photos.
