I would really like to get this car fixed . My guy says he thinks it is a cracked head. But I don't have any one to repair it so It may go to the crusher. Has a lot of new parts and will drive .Just blows coolant back into recovery tank. Any one close to Ottawa Ks that could do the work?

Socks,
It's my experience that our gaskets blow before the heads crack.
Until you have a shop that is familiar with 302 engines, will you be able to confidently say yes or no to a cracked head/block.

If you choose to restore it ... we're here to help.

I found a guy that knows those motors and he said the same thing Gasket. Now the hard part is trying to get him or some one else that knows what they are doing to do the work. Like puling teeth around here to get any one to work on that car. Seems like all the shops just want to pick and choose which oil changes they do. I really would like to keep it but I have to find some one to do the work and that is the BIG problem.

Socks,
If NE Ks stands for Northeast Kansas, that's about a 20,569 square mile area.

The capital, Topeka, has 19 standard zip codes. 66603, 66604, 66605, 66606, 66607, 66608, 66609, 66610, 66611, 66612, 66614, 66615, 66616, 66617, 66618, 66619, 66621, 66624, 66683.

Within those 19 zip codes, there's at least five auto mechanics in each one.

Point your browser to https://www.bing.com, enter auto mechanic 66603, and call the shops listed. Simply ask, "Does your shop replace head gaskets for an 80s Ford 302 engine?" A seasoned shop will immediately say yes. Then ask, "What is the most this would cost and when can you start?"
