Thinking of buying a 1990 Bill Blass

Postby natesriv » Wed Nov 23, 2016 12:29 pm

The online pics seem to show two warning lights. One has DTE MI 2 1.. which I think is just distance to empty, 21 miles.. so they need to add gas!!
But the other light I think is the anti-lock light. Does that go on if the key is in the on position, but the car's not running? Otherwise if it is running, there's something amiss with the ABS
Any comments welcome!
Thanks!

Nate:

Yes, DTE MI 21 means 21 miles to empty.

The red light is the brake system warning light. This red light will illuminate for three reasons:

1 - The parking brake is set. Release the parking brake and this light will go out.
2 - Brake fluid level in the reservoir is low. Add brake fluid to the proper level line and this light will go out.
3 - Low brake system pressure. With this condition, the amber ABS light in the overhead console will be lit as well. At start up, these two lights will be lit until system pressure builds up to operating pressure and go out.

Where is this car located?

I'm not near my car, but is the red on really the "Brake" light?, or is that the "Door Ajar" light?

EDIT: I didn't see the yellow light illuminated above by the steering wheel - that is the brake light. Also, could that be illuminated if the owner swapped out the teves for a boost unit, eliminating the ABS?

I'm in Kansas City, it's in San Jose.
Great price, just needs those lights looked at (they are the seller said). The hood has some fading, so I'll have to buff that, but all the other pics show a very well maintained car. The seats don't seem to have any wear, the gear shifter (it's an auto), appears pristine... So the fading is just time & the California sun...

Does a 90 have a clearcoat?

Thanks my friends!
