2013 Lincoln MKS 1lnhl9dk4dg616125

Postby cfcjr » Thu May 12, 2016 8:39 pm

I just purchased this 2013 Lincoln out of Mannheim Pa. SIGHT UNSEEN! This is why. It is Tuxedo Black Metallic with a Black interior. (My Favorite)
It is the 3.7 liter 304 hp model. It was owned by Mrs Harriet Tharpe and in the whole time she owned it she changed the oil twice, and replaced a tire that she punctured. I saw pictures at my dealer and the car has exactly 3,199 miles on it. It will be shipped to me, so I won't see it for a couple of weeks. I will be happy to show it to you guys then.
It has all the toys.....
If anyone knows how I can get a copy of the original sticker, please let me know.

Cool Charlie, I hope you love it.

Is the MKS the SUV or the Lincoln version of the Taurus? I've browsed the newer Lincolns, but I don't need another car really. I dreamed of an MKZ with the 3.5 ecoboost, but I gather it won't quite fit the smaller Fusion and MKZ.

That is beautiful Charlie, enjoy that.

BTW John, I couldn't see the whole picture, the right 3rd is cut off. How can I or we get the whole picture to display in the thread?

I knew that the picture exists so I hit quote etc, but that didn't get it. So I copied the edited http text and pasted it to a tab address, and went directly to the picture location. That let me see it, but most people wouldn't do that.

Is the issue with my browser or Windows, settings etc, do you know?

Switching to the mobile style of display evidently makes images a little smaller, and shows the full picture. Is there something that can display full images in the full mode? I have a 24" monitor and Windows 7, Firefox by Mozilla.

Don
The MKS is the sedan version. It is available with either a 3.7 liter 304 HP naturally aspirated or 3.5 liter with twin turbos. I chose the 3.7 liter. The 3.5 ecoboost with 365 hp IS the same motor as in the Taurus SHO I originally wanted the new Continental (which replaces MKS in 2017) but it is much too expensive for me. With all the toys you can expect to pay 60k. BTW, the 2017 Continental AND the MKZ are both available with the new (exclusive to Lincoln only) 3.0 liter with twin turbos (Ecoboost) putting out 400 horsepower. I own a 3.0 liter Fusion with 245 horsepower and that thing is quick. I can't imagine the new MKZ with the same platform as the Fusion with 400 hp. That will be a rocket!

John: Thanks for the picture. I purchased the MKS for my wife's daily driver, but I do not think she has seen a good picture of one yet, never-mind the one on the way.

Whoops.
It's a huge picture that I linked to while using a huge monitor.

I don't have FIREFOX installed on the system I'm using so I'll take a guess at resizing your browser's display with the <CTRL> and <+> or <-> key combinations. On this machine, one tap of <CTRL><-> displayed the entire picture.

Mobile users will have to save the picture to expand it.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Excellent Charlie, thanks for the incites. I could be happy with that TT 3.0 at 400hp. I saw some videos of the SHO spanking a few stock sportscars, and I thought that would be a blast. The 3.0 AWD Fusion that my dad and I rented a year ago was fun to drive. It's a small car but big enough for any normal needs I have.

Thanks John for the type with the Ctrl button. I went up and had to hit the "Ctrl -" about five times to make the picture small enough to show it all. The text was so small it was almost too small to read. I like tools like that, I just don't experiment with a PC to find them.

Well, I guess even Lincoln has left us Large Car lover's behind. The largest sedan (not SUV... I hate them) available from Lincoln now is the Continental. That is produced on a slightly stretched Fusion platform. The MKS is no longer available. The MKZ is even smaller than the Continental and is on the exact platform as the Fusion. I thought the MKS was rather small inside, never mind the shorter and narrower Continental. I guess I'll just have to look for a Grandfather's Town Car from Florida when it's that time again.

I'm sorry to hear they are ending the MKS, I've got one I see on my route a lot, and they are nice cars.

I've browsed the MKZ and priced it a little. I think I'm waiting a few years to see if one might be feasible then. They would run near $500 a month to lease the 400hp versions, and the way they build the package levels, you have to get the big three(engine, driver's thing, and black label). Those make it a mid 50k car. The black label has a couple of nicer interior colors etc, but the concierge treatment is unnecessary. I saw someone on a forum showing off their leased 2017 MKZ. Those were the first pictures I found of the new 3.0T engine. It's not very special looking, but it is one of my screen savers now.
