Someone has just purchased a Red Ragtop...

Postby LLFordman » Mon Nov 17, 2014 11:17 pm

Somebody just bought a nice Red LSC Convertible this past weekend at the Carlisle auction that was held in Zephyrhills Florida during the swap meet. It looks to be a '90 or newer. I am posting this in case someone comes along and sees this in hopes that they will introduce themselves. It would be nice to know another Vert owner here in FL. Congrats to the new owner.

Julian,
Thanks for the heads up. Normally there is a ton of information before and after Carlisle events. This one only yielded a consignment list showing the convertible is a 1991 and is dark red.

I looked in my archives and didn't see this vehicle in this particular combination so there is no VIN on file.

If you find any additional information, bounce it to me as I'd like this car to be in the registry.

Found it .... interestingly ... in different phases of customization. I'll post everything shortly. Processing :)

1LNCM93E6MY600733 1991 LINCOLN MARK VII CONVERTIBLE

Postby oldschool1 » Wed Nov 19, 2014 2:54 pm

Okay.

I first posted this vehicle in May of 2014. Between then and the sale in November of 2014, there appears to be a few changes. The most prominent would be the seat coverings. If the photos are chronologically correct, the seat colors went from maroon to white to maroon. Additionally, body side and decklid pinstriping added.

In either case, my sources are,

and

Thanks Julian.

Very nice, in both iterations. I'd like the white interior pieces, when you find out where they went.

I can't say I like either interior color by itself but if I had to choose for this particular car I'd have to go with red I guess. I hope who ever bought it shows up here and finds this thread so we can welcome them to the club. Be interesting to know what it sold for too. Thanks John for the other photos and info.

Thanks Guys.

The white seating was definitely aftermarket (note the wrinkles) and was done before the pin striping. The car currently has a maroon LSC interior that may be aftermarket (again, see the wrinkles in the head rests) but it's nicely done. I cannot compare it to anything as I don't own a 1991 and the pattern is a bit foreign to me.

Either way, it's a gorgeous vehicle but I was out at $9,000.00 :)

I've been looking for a Mark VI or Mark VII convertible for some time. My first choice is the Mark VII. Does anyone know of someone who is looking to sell?

For those that didn’t click through all the links, it sold in 2014 for $10,500. Pretty strong.
