Accumulator Ball Difference

Postby ricardocordoba » Thu Aug 10, 2017 9:12 pm

Hello, I'm just curious and haven't gotten much clarification but, will the accumulator ball from an '84-'89 Mark fit on the '90-'92 models? My understanding is that there is a difference in the shape but, not sure if the rest of the ball itself is the same as the later unit? I'm assuming it will fit the later cars? Thank you in advance.

The OEM accumulators from 1990 - 1992 have a longer nipple that will not fit pre 1990 systems.
The shorter OEM accumulators from 1985 - 1989 have a nipple that should fit all years.

Thank you. I'm aware the newer replacements. The reason why I was asking is because I came across a NOS one for a reasonable price for the older Mark VIIs. Give the price I went ahead and bought it anyways.

...where did you buy it Ricardo? I want to put a new one on my 86 when I do the brakes...and many here say that the ACDELCO 25528382/Jag JLM1907 will also work...anybody know a decent place to get them? (and at a decent price...?)

I know Spinning Wheels used to sell them. They're not listed as "in stock," on their website - but I heard recently that someone actually *called* them and they were able to locate one. Maybe give that a try. When I bought one (few years ago), they were $150. Link here.

...can anybody help me with this one? I'm about to order an accumulator ball that is AC DELCO #25528382-compatible, and that AC DELCO part is supposed to work on our Marks. It's rated at 210 bars of pressure, which also works. But my question is the thread size. The one I'm going to order is M14 X 1.5. Will that thread size fit our Marks? I have an early one, an '86. This accumulator ball issue is a pain in the butt. It's so hard to find one that will work on our cars...thanks for the input...I'll be happy to report back to the group on my success or lack of it.. :D

I cannot say as I've not tried this product. Also, I haven't done the actual nipple measurements. I've only used the phrases short or long.

The pressure rating is correct for our cars though.

I am trying to find a vacuum accumulator for my 1988 LSC. Anybody have any input on where without breaking the bank?

Thanks in advance................

Scanky,
I don't understand.
Are you talking about the BRAKE SYSTEM ACCUMULATOR BALL or an empty storage vessel on the vacuum system or the black bottle with two hoses on our AC systems?
