$78.80 for both outer dew-wipes, part #80-0685-57 at http://secure.steelerubber.com/. Standard $8.95 shipping with 4% handling, bringing the total to $90.90 to your door. I do not know of anyone that has tried this specifically, but if they actually come "original" with the necessary clips and are a simple direct-replacement, I would give them a shot!

Just wondering if anyone here has used them, and if they are any good?

Thanks.

The link below will tell you how to get them off.

When you go to the home page http://thelincolnmarkviiclub.org/index.htm there are a list of documents that has the tech articles link and a few others.

Hope that this helps you.

There's too many Dougs on here!!!

But Thanks Doug for bringing that up. I'll save this note, and see about changing my dew wipes once winter's over...

I bought the JC Whitney pieces, but I keep looking at those ones on Ebay, and I'm thinking if they have all the right clips so I can install them without all the cutting and modding work, I may just buy them and use the Whitney ones on my Towncar. It would be greatly appreciated if both you guys could post your results, it would help me make up my mind what exactly I want to do. Mostly I'm wondering if the Steele or eBay ones will fit right on without the need to modify the parts.

My pair of the new window weatherstrips arrived yesterday and I will do my best to snap some pictures for everyone tomorrow (Friday).

So far, I am pleased that they are black trim instead of the silver strip (given my jet black color scheme).

Stay tuned and I remain...

Most methods where perfection is the ultimate result ARE difficult and time consuming. That IS the enjoyment of this hobby. Rick, your car WREAKS of perfection, as does Jack's and Jerry's and Fred's and John's and, and, and,... That's what makes me envious of all of your cars! Let 'um grumble or buy stick on weatherstrip like me, but I'll NEVER bring home trophies like you guys, because you seek perfection and get it, which takes us full circle to "difficult and time consuming".

<The preceding was intended as a complement and the author apologizes for the awkward attempt to put forth that message>

I feel good when mine just starts and gets me to work, so I keep spares! hehehe

But it's the right/professional/best way, Rick! Thanks for your efforts!

I wouldn't complain about it being difficult and time consuming... Hey, the more I can work on the car myself the better. But I think the PDF file should be done in a way so that it isn't 64 pages long... I'm sure I'm not the only one that doesn't has a computer or laptop in the garage, so when it comes time for me to get down and dirty, I don't want to have to wait for a book to print.
