Since the aftermarket window motor replacement worked so well in my Black 1990, I installed one in my 1988 LSC driver's side.

What brand did you get, oldschool1? I have trouble reading the picture. Is it Dorman?

That is the Dorman unit.
I do hope that the Dorman unit works great for you John, parts vary of course.

I wasn't happy with the one aftermarket power window motor(PWM) I used once. It wasn't quite as good as OEM, just a little off, and last straw I discovered it didn't fit the regulator gear close enough. It might have been a poor manufactured unit, but I liked the stock one I replaced it with next, better. Some of the aftermarket versions may be faster though, which could be good for some people.

I located a source of OEM rebuilt PWM's on eBay a couple of years ago, for around $35 each or so. I bought six I think, for three vehicle projects. The only difference for any older Ford PWM's seems to be the orientation of the body and the connector type. So there are only a few that cover all older(pre-mid-90's) Fords.
