Hi from Australia + model chart poster in development

Hello fellow Mark VII enthusiasts,

I would like to introduce myself and why I'm here. I am in my 30s and from Australia. You may be aware of the cars we build down here - large rear wheel drive sedans known as the GM Holden Commodore and Ford Falcon series. But unfortunately from 2017 our manufacturing is ending due to high labour costs, carbon taxes, too small a domestic market, etc, so many are predicting a new grey import market to get the cars we still want to have. I have always loved the Lincoln Continental Mark VII, it's such a unique car, and have dreams of owning one one day (a very costly propositiion here in Australia). Our situation may lead to the cost of imports going down and maybe I'll get to see one with my own eyes for the first time! (During a five-week trip to the US in 2012, I never saw one.)

Well the reason I came onto here is because I am also a graphics illustrator and specialise in making model charts showing the evolution of a particular series of car over the years. I have made about 130 of these charts in total over the past two years, including many Australian, American, British and European cars, and have sold hundreds to enthusiasts all over the world. I have just finished my first Lincoln one, which is for the Mark VII. I would like to show it here to try and drum up some interest from those who would be interested.

I will put the example image of the print at the bottom of this message. It is designed to show all the changes from 1984 to 1992, and also includes the White Lightning and Midnight Mark special editions, as well as a GTC, the Indy pace car and the Stauffer GST. Each car has a label under it with text that discusses the changes for the year depicted, or that specific model depicted, and the print has a large blurb of intro/history/technical text at the top.

Many hours have gone into the planning, research and illustrating of the poster. The text is to be finalised.

There isn't much interest on eBay it seems, so I thought I'd put up a message here to try and get some interest.

To the moderators - if you feel this is spamming or unsolicitied advertising, I will understand and please take action to remove this post if required.

To potential buyers, I understand the postage cost makes the poster a bit less appealing but that's what Australia Post charges to send a poster overseas because they class it as a full parcel and not a letter. So what I say is that if someone can take delivery of multiple orders and distribute them at a club meet or something then I would only need to charge for one postage cost. If you also make such a bulk order, the cost of each print is discounted.

A bit more about me, I am in IT work primarily and do logo/print design as well as web development. I raise pups for Customs and also have interests in aviation and electronic music. I am a new father also and live in Melbourne, which is just as good, if not better than, Sydney!

Thanks for reading!

Andrew from Australia.

Hi Andrew

I'm in Western Australia and in recent weeks have acquired a 1988 Lincoln MK V11, if you are in the state you may wish to check it out. Very impressed with poster and may be interested in purchasing one.

Cheers.

John

Looks interesting. Wouldn't mind having a large version of it in my shop. My only question is, why aren't the convertibles represented? 8-)

Lincoln Mark VIIs came from the factory in 27 different flavors.
The poster was originally just an overview.
