Based on your description, I would say go with two, unequal length Dynomax Super Turbos. I believe I used a 1334 and 1349. I spec'd them based on the bigger muffler: it the highest flow 2.5" oval muffler with the biggest case. The other is also 2.5 in/out but about 4" shorter in the case. Ideally, the flow tubes would be 2.5" into the mufflers to reduce throttling effects from diameter changes. I and someone else used this set up. Neither of us have much drone but a little rumble. We are both pretty happy. I'd be happy to meet you if you want to hear it. I just need to get the upper intake back on the car.
Do you have the '86 Charcoal car? My memory is fuzzy.
